Scrape for the Grape, April 4 @ 10 AM

Attention Residents:

Please be aware that the East Stratford Residential Association is once again sponsoring an invasive spotted lantern fly egg scraping event on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 AM am until 1 PM. Attendees will be meeting in the parking lot at the East Stratford Pool. Included below is text from the Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance (LIRA) website outlining the details of this event and a link for attendees to REGISTER. We hope to see you there!

Our community could use your help! After being drawn to Loudoun because of the invasive Tree of Heaven, the also invasive Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) then moves on to grapevines and fruit trees, putting our farms and wineries in jeopardy. Please consider joining 1,000 of your fellow Loudouners across 22 locations over three days at the 2026 Scrape for the Grape.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 AM-1 PM starting at the East Stratford Pool.

Why Participate?

  • Be part of one of Loudoun’s most popular volunteer events in 2026 – 1,000 volunteers!
  • 22 locations to pick from, including 18 Wineries, 3 HOAs and Ida Lee Park
  • Create awareness of invasive species while helping our rural economy
  • Family friendly and fun, while getting educated about the SLF!
  • Volunteers receive commemorative t-shirts, scrapers and bandanas
  • 25 wineries participating in a “weekend of gratitude”, offering special promotions for volunteers
  • Mom’s Apple Pie is back with special SLF shaped cookies for the kids
